The Railway & Marine Art of Ted Parker

Euston Bound

52cm x 62cm, oil on canvas.

One of my early paintings I produced in 1980 when I worked for ‘British Steel’ and forced by the unions to participate in the great Steel Strike of 1980, I produced several paintings over that bleak winter and enforced time off!! The scene is a typical late night departure from Carlisle circa 1961 with Stanier Pacific 46229 ‘Duchess Of Hamilton’ now preserved in the NRM restored to its Streamlined form as built in the 1930s.
