One of the last big steam festivals organised by Spoornet was held in 1991 when just about every steam locomotive that was serviceable and museum locomotives was pressed into service including the last Class 25 condensing locomotive 3511, 2 x 16D Pacific’s, several 25 NCs, 15CA and 15Fs and a host of smaller historic locomotives and the famous “Red Devil” all hard at work covering as many freights and service trains as possible.
We also witness the ceremonial handover of a 15F to wild life and railway artist David Shepherd.
This was a unique event blessed with some dramatic performances and weather conditions.
Running Time approx 55 Min, 4 x 3 Aspect
